When might we hear from the league about suspensions, anyone? My initial understanding is Reading had several leave the bench. Not certain what might or might not happen to the our guys. Listening to Hammer It was all Royals gooning it up Mike Sgroi style. Leaving the bench is an automatic suspension I think. The Reading paper indicates that Del Monte took a two handed swing at a Royal yet Hammer didn't mention that.....Reading's paper made it appear that the Clones have taken a Elmira approach to the playoffs. |

Just got back from Reading safely after being threatened by a few royals fans. Rob Kwiet will be suspended for leaving the bench and Del Monte might be suspended because he was given a match penalty for the big 2 handed slash, which was pretty awesome I might add. It was very hectic and hard to watch everything so I'm not sure who Del Monte slashed, but I think it was #24 stamoulis. He really had no choice other than using his stick as a weapon because he was being attacked by 3 Reading d-bags at one time.
The game other than the brawl was great and I'm looking forward to finishing reading off at home now that it appears the real Cyclones team has shown up. On a side note, to steal a quote from John Hamel, Reading fans put the ass in classless. |

I have seen 2 handed slashes from time to time, I have mostly seen 2 handed slashes down around the shin pads and never the head, I cannot imagine Del Monte taking a swing at someones head. Clearly there was opportunity for everyone to recieve a match penalty because from what I understand a match penalty is assesed to folks who appear to knowningly attempt to inflict harm. The Reading paper had a write up about the game where the Royals Coach made reference to the Clones getting away with everything without the calls however He made no mention to the 5 spot we put on their team causing the Royals Mike Sgroi like meltdown. Human nature is great, even we do it from time to time, but the ref calls a great game when your team wins, but lose and the refs are being bought off. |

I think Stamoulis is related to Sgroi somehow. |

It's a shame Del Monte is down, but I suppose it was deserved, it is nice that Reading will be down two top blue line guys. I suppose it also gives Killer a chance to get back in without sacrificing some of the other infused energy of the last two games. |

Cincinnati, Reading Organizations Fined
The ECHL announced that the Cincinnati Cyclones and Reading Royals organizations have been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of their players actions in ECHL Playoff Game #L-5, Cincinnati at Reading, on May 9.
Maybe someone who was there can shed some light on this. Is this for the so-called fight in the locker room areas? |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It's really sad, seems like a couple of times the melee had calmed, the ref should have sent teams to the bench. I'm not certain that it could have come close to the police being dispatched...maybe that is dumb, but clearly the ineffective ECHL officials couldn't get it under control. Several folks from Reading were envolved, I'm trying to stay unbiased here but as a Clone fan i'm pretty much seeing the Clones trying to disengage from a couple of the fights, See a Reading player whaling on someone from our team while he was down with his back turned towards him.....I don't know, It would seem that we would have very little to benefit by being up 5 goals and starting something like this. On the other hand Reading pretty much being embarrased by this point. Heck sometime I enourage alittle rough play when we are down alot, at least make the other team feel like they have actually played a hockey game....but never a line brawl. lastly I also see a Reading fans take a two hander to a Clone. |

That line brawl makes me remember the first time the two teams meet last year in Cincinnati. In the first five seconds of the game Justin Johnson got into a fight. Never figured out how in hell can two players fight 5 seconds into the game without the two teams meeting before in the season. |

Oh well, we lose a player with 4 points and they lose 2 with 7 points. As the Queen of Hearts says: "Off with their heads!" |

I agree with what others have said. I'm not sure how the Cyclones get a fine though. From the look of the video our guys were getting mugged and attacked by 2 and 3 Royals. What are they supposed to do? |

I didnt see it from my seats on the penalty box side of the ice, but I heard that Cruthers was trying to start a fight in the hallway to the locker rooms. Not sure why he doesn't get a suspension for that. As I said before Del Monte had no choice really because Reading has to fight in a pack instead of 1 on 1. Like Elvis said he was getting mugged by 3-4 royals. The refs did a horrible job officiating the 3rd period which is what lead to the brawl. Reading was being embarassed and they started getting chippy with the Cyclones and nothing got called. When that stuff is allowed to go on it just gets everybody mad and eventually you end up with a huge fight. The fans didn't help matters by throwing food and drinks onto the ice and trying to fight Cyclone players as they left the ice. |
