quote: And with Florida's hiring of Mike Santos as assistant general manager on Thursday, Weber has an "in" with the Panthers.
Santos spent the past four seasons as director of hockey operations for the NHL's Nashville Predators. Among his duties: overseeing player development operations with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals and the ECHL's Cyclones.
Whether those ties will influence the hiring process isn't known, but Weber's coaching rsum by itself is impressive.

"It's time to move up. I don't think there's much else to accomplish (in Cincinnati), and I know I'm prepared for it. I've worked hard on developing players and creating a winning environment in Cincinnati, and it's time to do that in the American (Hockey) League." -- Cyclones head coach Chuck Weber
Based on his four years in Cincinnati, he's earned the opportunity to coach at the next level. New Panthers GM Dale Tallon is someone that's been known to give coaches, trainers, equipment managers a chance from the lower levels. |

I think we can all agree he deserves the opportunity...he has earned it.
Whether we want to admit it or not, if its going to happen let us hope it is soon. We still have our team to worry about and the sooner they know to get a replacement, the better. There is still a lot of work to do before the new season starts, and lets face it, whoever they bring in will bring in their own system. You don't implement changes over night. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |
