Not bad.
Of course, all those hall of famers played in 500-plus more games than Desjardins. But one game in your books is good enough to measure a former Cyclone with everyone that had a hall of fame career. |

The fact that you took my post seriously almost makes me feel sorry for you.
Almost. |

I think Donnie and HRC and anybody who has seen Ceddy play can agree on one thing, take away the ECHL, AHL, and NHL levels Ceddy is a world class person and has a world class work ethic. Wherever he plays he will always give that team 110%.
Any team that gives a player a chance who is not drafted that player is forever grateful, I believe Ceddy will never say anything negative about the Montreal organization because of the chance they gave him, it did not work out in Montreal and he was traded to a team that could use him and further his career. |

| As I said before, he played well in his debut and warrants another start. |

Outstanding stuff.
Cedrick was originally slated to be called up for a week when Norfolk wasn't playing and was going to be acclimated to the NHL environment and work with some goaltending coach.
He returns to Norfolk with a 2-0 record and a gaa below 1.

quote: Tampa Bay rookie Cedrick Desjardins, recalled from Norfolk of the AHL on Dec. 20, made 34 saves to win his second consecutive start.
"I was just having fun finding every shot," Desjardins said. "I was in the zone."
His fun ended quickly, however.
After the game, the Lightning acquired 41-year old goalie Dwayne Roloson from the New York Islanders for minor league defenseman Ty Wishart. Boucher said the trade means Desjardins will be going back to Norfolk of the AHL.
I don't know why Tampa felt the need to get the veteran back up, but so it goes. Cedrick starts his NHL career in a most impressive fashion. |

A few more articles on CD.
http://www.tampabay.com/sports/hockey/lightning/lightning-goalie-is-stalwart-again/1143138
quote: Desjardins showed them a glimpse of what he could bring in the future. He was more impressive than he was in his win Thursday over the Canadiens, an organization he played in for four years without a callup.
"I was more in control," Desjardins said. "I know right now I can play in that league. I know I can play with that team, too. I enjoyed it."
quote: Desjardins made a statement "Two statements, actually," Boucher said. And he probably couldn't have written a better script for the start of his NHL career.
This article sheds some light behind the thinking of Tampa regarding the trade for the veteran goalie which resulted in Cedrick's return to the AHL. Makes sense in that Tampa may have a chance to go deep into the playoffs and this new goalie is a veteran with some pretty heady statistics this season.
http://www.tampabay.com/sports/hockey/lightning/tampa-bay-lightning-gets-goalie-dwayne-roloson-from-new-york-islanders-for/1143142
quote: The Lightning acquired veteran goaltender Dwayne Roloson from the Islanders on Saturday night, feeling it has improved its goaltending for a potential playoff push.......
zerman said the Lightning had been debating the move for a little while, and when the opportunity arose, the team jumped on it.
Roloson was 6-13-1 this season with the Islanders, who have the second-fewest points in the league, and had a 2.64 goals-against average and .916 save percentage. He was an All-Star in 2004 and has played in 33 career playoff games.
"We're bringing in a veteran goalie who has played a lot of hockey and who has played playoff hockey and gone all the way to the Stanley Cup finals (with the Sabres in 1999)," Yzerman said. "An opportunity to make our team better came along, and we decided to act upon it. We feel we're stronger today after making the trade."

| Cederick Desjardins was No. 3 on the depth chart when an injury to Mike Smith gave him a chance to play in the NHL. Two games and two wins later, he's now No. 4 on the depth chart. Even though he played well, Steve Yzerman knows he cannot count on Desjardins to help get the Lightning where they have a chance to go when spring rolls around. |
