TAMPA, Fla. (AP)The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired 41-year-old goalie Dwayne Roloson(notes) from the New York Islanders shortly after beating the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
Boucher said rookie goalie Cedrick Desjardins(notes), who earned the win over the Rangers on Saturday night, will be sent back to Norfolk. Desjardins also beat Montreal 4-1 in his NHL debut on Thursday night.
Thought I would break the news before our favorite pain in the a%# can gloat about it.
Cedrick looked great both games. Very happy for him. He should have a legitimate shot at atleast a backup spot next year given the current TB goalie tandem. Roloson will most likely be gone after this season and Ellis and Smith are Ellis and Smith.
My guess is the trade was made before the Ranger's game and leave it to Cedrick to have two good games in a row. However this does open the possibility that one of the other may go leaving him back at number 3 instead of 4. Sorry Joe for starting another topic when you mentioned it last night in the other one. I was so pissed at the news I didn't think to look at the other.
