The E's website says there were 5113 at the game. To those of you that were there, what do you think it really was?

| We've discussed this a million times now...Dayton announces their attendance by how many tickets are sold/given away for that game, not by how many people are there. |

Yes we have discussed this before. Susan probably wanted to know from the people who went if the crowd really looked like the announced attendance. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I wasn't there on Saturday, but their Friday nite crowd of 6900 looked like 3000.

| I was there Saturday ... it was not a bad crowd by any means but there weren't 5000 there. But hey, I've seen them juice it way higher than they did this weekend. |

| The funny thing about it is when Bombers fans give us crap about our attendance and their's isn't much better than ours. At least the cyclones are honest about their attendance. |

| I was there on Friday. There is NO WAY that there was 6800 there. I would say 2500-3000 at the most. My daughters and I even got on the video board!! |

You should really retire from trying to estimate crowd size. The lower (ONLY) bowl seats 10,000. More than half the seats were filled Friday night fella's. From what I've seen, they bump the ticket count by about 1200. |

I don't know what game you were at RL but from my vantage point there wasn't even one section that was half full, cept maybe the benches. |

R-L,
No possible way that crowd was 5000. The corner tickets were obviously distributed given the fact that there were people in almost every row, but those sections were about 1/3rd full. The sections near the Zamboni end were virtually empty and nothing else was more than 40% full-most less.
A few years back, someone from the Nutter Center released the actual "in the door" figures to the Dayton Daily News and the "drop count" was under 1700 per game. Announced attendance was very similar to what it is now. By my estimates drawn from the Dayton games I've attended this season, they juice their crowds by about 75%. Meaning if there are 2000 in the seats, they'll announce 3500. They've done it for years.
But, they're not alone. I was in Atlanta on Thursday and their 15,200 was more like 6000-by my estimates and several of the folks I talked to at intermission. Tuesday in Tampa, the Lightining listed a crowd of 15,900 which was more like 9000. Tickets were available for as little as $5 at the Tampa game on the street and $10 in Atlanta.
The Cyclones policy of announcing honest figures is the exception rather than the rule. |

it all comes down to whether they count people through the door or tix out...since the clones allow season ticket holders to trade in unused tickets, they don't count season ticket holders unless they actually use their tickets. from talks i've had with dayton people, it seems that they count tickets out and i'm guessing this counts comp tickets regardless of whether people show up or not....
regardless dayton's attendance is a dead horse can we quit beating it and just bury it once and for all.... |

| Yes, it's time to stop whining about Dayton's attendance and start figuring out how to boost Cincinnati's to a level at least even with Dayton's. Your city is TWICE the size of ours, your team is supposedly better than ours, and you still have a lower attendance average, no matter how it's counted. Go figure. See ya Feb 20. |
