Learn to take posts in the right context. I never said the attendance on Obama night wasn't good, I was merely comparing it to those saying the Cunningham bobblehead will draw 4,000 more than the president, days after he took office. Interesting how you're so confident that the draw will be huge yet you're not comfortable "putting a number on it". That should make you look pretty good whether it's a huge crowd or a disappointment, huh. Keep up the good work!
Sincerely yours,
~ "TRUE Cyclones fan"
Silly me. I forgot, huge prizes are awarded for the person coming closest to guessing the exact attendance for that game. Is that with, or without going over? How can I possibly "look good" if the crowd is a disappointment? My exact words were "TRUE Cyclones fans...won't be disappointed with the attendance number that night." Okay, if it's a number you want, here....I'll say, um, more than the Obama promotion. I'll let hrc go look up the exact number from that game...take his mind off his frustration from Desharnais still not playing in the NHL.
Nah, now that I think about it, I'll just go ahead and say 10,000, and no surprise on my part if it goes as high as 12,000. And I agree it is very short-sighted on the Cyclones' part to only make 2500 bobbleheads available. I actually agree with hrc on this one, that 5000 would have been a nice number, although my reasoning has nothing to do with the date on the calendar. The promotion itself would be enough to give out at least 5000 any given night.
Enjoy the nice crowd. |

My point wasn't that you should be predicting an exact attendance number, but that you were trolling by making ridiculous assumptions such as that I'm not a "TRUE" Cyclones fan, even though I never said that the promotion wasn't a smart one, nor that it wouldn't be a good crowd. You jumped all over my post, ridiculously questioning if I was a "true" fan or not, for no real reason. In fact, you jumped to those conclusions pretty blindly, as, I'll say it one last time, all I was doing was comparing it to the Obama bobblehead night for those predicting 12K. As I said originally, it has the potential to be a great crowd, and I hope it exceeds my expectations. I'm starting to think it will, as I certainly wasn't expecting nearly 7K last night for just a kids eat free night. I sincerely hope it does reach 12K, I'll be rooting for it, and bringing a nice little group myself. |

Mr. Hole, I never said, or made any assumptions, that you are not a true Cyclones fan. I simply stated that those who are truly interested and concerned with the financial aspect of the Cyclones' success will not be disappointed with the crowd. And yes, you showed a direct interest (since you started the sentence with the word "Interesting") in me giving you a prediction of an exact number, and indirectly challenged me to give you a number so that, when the actual attendance number is announced, you or others can judge whether or not I "look good" with my prediction of a huge crowd. So now that I have put a number on it, if the crowd for this particular game exceeds 10,000, will I look good, while if the number is higher than the crowd on Obama bobblehead night, will this then make YOU look bad, considering your original post in this thread? Just a rhetorical question...you don't have to answer.
As for your trolling remark, I will address it elsewhere on this board, where I can stay on topic, thus NOT exhibiting "troll" behavior. |

I personally don't care who looks good or bad, if you had read my last post, you would realize that guessing the attendance really had nothing to do with my main point. I equated your post to trolling because it appeared you jumped all over me for comparing the crowd to Obama night because you were so confident that it would be a huge crowd, but then backed down from guessing a number. That then made me believe that you made your post just to disagree with me, and that you weren't actually certain if it would be a good crowd or not. |

Yes, the thread is called Willie Cunningham Challenge, and your original post referred to dollar hot dogs. Everyone who hasn't discussed dollar hot dogs, including yourself, has technically taken this discussion off-topic. Your original post said nothing about attendance, or whether or not it was a good promotion. It simply stated the challenge, and your question about paying an extra dollar for Willie not to show. I apologize for not sticking with the original topic of dollar hot dogs. I think it is good when a sports team can offer dollar hot dogs. Except when the buns are stale. I am glad the Cyclones have met that challenge.
As for paying the extra dollar for Willie to stay away, you will have to ask him that question. |

The hockey traveller is now predicting a Cyclone crowd of over 10,000. Why glory be!! This prediction is actually coming from a hecklers grove refugee who continually has predicted the demise of the Cyclones.
Will he finally admit that the Cyclone management is competent and that they have managed to build an organization and fan following which makes the current Cyclone incarnation the most successful hockey franchise in Cincinnati since the fluky days of the original (and very bad quality) Cyclones? Will he at the very least acknowledge that the Cyclones are here to stay? Or that any professional/high junior hockey endeavor at the Gardens is doomed to failure?
I'm not holding my breath. LOL
I will certainly not hold my breath on the possibility that his trolling days will be over soon.

Yet another hrc post that is inflammatory, off-topic, intended to provoke an emotional response or otherwise disrupt on-topic conversation. Hmm.... |

The pre-sale of tickets for the Cunningham bobblehead night is not very good.
I just did a ticket*astard search and came up with 5 tickets in Section 130 (dead center ice) Row G.
The Cyclones may be one of the toughest teams in sports to make a somewhat accurate advance attendance estimation. The team has very few season tickets yet is capable of generating huge walk up crowds.
I would hate to be in charge of staffing USBA for the Cyclones on any weekend night-let alone a promotion like the Cunningham b-head. It's almost a complete guessing game. If I had to guess right now, I quite frankly couldn't give any number with any degree of confidence.
With weather conditions being a huge wild card at this time of the year, the crowd could be as low as 3000 and as high as...who knows? |

Agreed! |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Ticketmaster search yielded 2 tickets in Sec 108 Row J.
There's a very good chance that the crowd may fall well short of initial expectations. Well, mine at least |

A two ticket request isn't a good tool on a search. The real test is at least 4 or 5. This will tell you more what's available. I'm going for 7200 with fair/good weather or 1400 with a snow storm. |

| Yes Bill Cunningham is really replacing Wildman as the PA announcer tonight and yes he is incredibly annoying. Although I do agree that there should be at least 5,000 bobbleheads given away tonight |
