The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks folded up shop after the 2004-05 season, and some folks are still bitter about it.
In addition to being bitter about other things |

| Sure, he isn't as tall as most NHLers, heck maybe all or the NHLers but the guy still scored his first freakin NHL goal. It might be the first of many, maybe the one and only but it was a NHL goal on his home ice beating the Penguins in a regular season game where he saw over 16 minutes of ice and all Don can come up with is that DD has the same amount of goals that 11 goaltenders have. I'm amazed the depths of pathetic this Don guy has. Just watching the youtube video I cannot wonder after the goal how DD kept from peeing in his pants. |

Really? That's all I could come up with? According to the thread, I also came up with this comment below:
"Great to see he scored a goal but what the Canadiens coaching staff and GM Pierre Gauthier are going to evaluate him on tonight was his play away from the puck and in the defensive zone, how many battles he won/lost for the puck along the wall, and how he did in the faceoff circle. From what I could tell watching the game on TV, he was pretty good in all those areas which matters more to the coaches than the goal he scored."
If you're going to take your shots, Scuba, the least you could do is try to have your facts straight.

If DD is given a legit shot, he'll be more effective in the NHL than Montreal's highest paid player.
Scott Gomez can't score when he's on the ice when teams are at even strength. Check this stat out:http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=30203373&postcount=1
quote: I was looking at the Habs stats thi s morning and I found it very interesting to see that Benoit Pouliot is second on the team behind Thomas Plekanec with even strentgh points... With no power play minutes and an average of only 12 minutes per game, I think Pouliot is doing a really good job.
Plekanec / 11G + 13A = 24 pts Pouliot / 8G + 11A = 19 pts Gionta / 11G + 7A = 18 pts Kostitsyn / 7G + 11A = 18 pts Camalerri / 7G + 8A = 15 pts Halpern / 5G + 10A = 15 pts Darche / 5G + 5A = 10 pts Hamrlik / 2G + 8A = 10 pts Gomez / 3G + 6A = 9 pts
That's in 42 games. Gomez is averaging only .21 points per game at even strength. DD--with 2 points at even strength in 5 games with about half of Gomez's ice time--is averaging .4 points per game at even strength. That's twice as much at 1/14th the price.
In relative terms, DD is 28 times more effective per salary dollar at even strength than the Canadien's highest paid player. And that's with mediocre linemates. Per Unit of ice time, he's roughly a 40-1 value when compared to Gomez in terms of production and salary.
DD needs a new agent and a big raise.

| YOU STILL DON'T GET IT DO YOU? The way I see it is DD has scored 1 more NHL goal then you Don. The guy IS living his dream, which is far more than I can say you are doing unless you dream about sitting behind a computer provoking folks you don't care for.....Oh, wait i'm sorry giving your opinion. |

| Desharnais was given just 9:13 minutes of ice time yesterday against the NY Rangers -- the fewest in the game by a Montreal skater. He won just one of five faceoffs. |

Not true by a long shot. Plus they still won the game.

It is obvious you are just making facts up now to anger people on this board. Instead of trying to spread negative comments Donnie, get your facts straight. Go post your negative comments on a blog or go on over the Montreal's fan message boards and post your comments there. You'll get banned pretty quickly is my guess

You said 9:13 was the shortest amount of time a Montreal skater has had on the ice. Yet I found one player with less than 3 minutes of ice time. So yes, you are just making up negative facts to stir the pot. |

| Desharnais might have been close to the bench on line changes and his other line mates could have been too far away from the bench to change with DD, Benoit Pouliot had just 48 more seconds then DD on the ice. Newbury a center for the Rangers only had 7 minutes on the ice, and has played 50 games in the NHL, somebody has to have the fewest minutes and the most minutes Donnie, who cares what minutes DD plays DD is still in Montreal for how long who knows he is getting his chance. Jared Boll for the Blue Jackets granted he is an enforcer gets less then 10 minutes on the ice most games even if he does not have PIMs a plenty. Time on the ice does not matter, its what you do on the ice that matters DD is 47% on faceoff wins which as a rookie who does not get all the playing time is not terrible but decent. |

Uh.. no duh! And it displays his ice time per game... several under 9 minutes which proves you are wrong. |
