That chant and the "He shoots,he scores, hey (insert goalies name) you suck!" are both mildly / very annoying at times. Atleast that Heckler from Hell is gone. I've actually witnessed mothers requesting their children be pictured with him. Wow.

Well I for one miss the ol' Heckler...and if you ever talk to him you would see he is as friendly as they come...and passionate about this team. As far as the "He shoots, he scores" chant, I love it! Especially when the place is rockin'.

Its a hockey game, not a knitting competition. If I want quiet I will watch a chess game.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

I dont have the outgoing personality myself to be a noticeable fan, but I do enjoy watching some of the things people do when they're having fun at the games.

Somersaults, thats how I roll!

Did you make a wrong turn and think you were going to church? You must be the life of the party eh?

Like others have said, it's a hockey game and it should be loud and rowdy...

I don't doubt that he's a nice guy,I just really don't understand what makes a grown man wear a costume to any sporting event. Totally understand that hockey games arent a chess match, but that doesnt mean that fan chants dont get old the thousand+ times you hear them.

The face painting is spreading....three more had faces painted at Wednesdays game. What makes it worse is that people actually want their pictures taken with these clones which only encourages them.
Our section "boos" them and they don't come close to us anymore.

What I find annoying is the person sitting near the top of section 110 who, during the Florida series kept yelling "Egener, you suck", even though that player was a scratch for the Friday and Saturday games.

Maybe it was Egener?

Due to work schedule this year I can't make most games, but last year it seems the face painters rotated around USBA. I don't like them standing up in front of people, making a fool out of themselves. If it were to happen in front of me, I would get an usher and have them removed!!

Hi, I just happen to be one of those "annoying fans" that your talking about that sit in section 130 and do our chants. I don't get what the big deal is just because were able to enjoy ourselves and have some fun. If I wanted to go to go to Church and be bored then I would of went there, however, this is hockey! I'm not just going to sit there on my hands and be bored like alot fans that come to the game!

Read enough here...........come on people....give it a break!

Painted faces duo........never seen them get in the way of other fans while the game is going on. They are having fun and you can't say they don't support their team! Their goal is to get noticed and get up on the jumbotron. They are supporting their team!!

The fans in section 130.....like said elsewhere, they are loud and having fun. lol Maybe what they are yelling sounds inappropiate to you, but it makes sence to them. But they are supporting the team!

Heckler From Hell.........I miss him and how he could/can get under the skin of the opposition. There is no doubt that he supports the Cyclones. (He is serving our Country right now and our right to be able to voice our opinions!)

Bottom line is..........you may not like the way they show it.......but as individuals........each fan has their own way of showing support for THE CYCLONES!!

Do you really think that guy ever got under any opposing players skin? I've seen guys from other teams laugh at him,but never one that looked anything other than amused.

Even if he didn't get under their skin directly, Heckler fired up the crowd. If you want to see "get under their skin," come over to section 112. There are a couple of true experts sitting on the side of the visitors walkway.

There is more than one way to "get under the skin" of the opposition.

Getting noticed to distract or a reaction (laughed at or amused by) only takes a players' focus away from the game.
Verbal assaults will get a reaction......a loss of focus and/or made angry........but in the long run only make the local fans look bad!

So which works better??? 'Site Gags' that make players take a second look or laughed at and lose their focus.........or verbal assaults that make a player angry, lose focus and make local fans look bad???

It is an extremely low class demonstration of terrible sportsmanship to yell obscenities and verbal personal attacks at the ref and opposing players. This is compounded x2 when you are doing it in front of kids. It is squared to the infinite power when you are doing it in front of your own kids.

And I'm not talking about chanting that the opposing goalie sucks after every goal. That is a taunt, not an obscene attack. Some people can't seem to tell the difference.

As far as dancing and face painting... Who cares. I've never seen any of those folks actually cause a problem for the people around them. They are just fans being fans. We all do that in different ways, and as long as what you are doing isn't negatively effecting those around you... Have at it.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.
