| I like both, and verbal assaults can be very effective without sinking to the "You suck" mantra (tho, what the hey-it's hockey, not a tennis match). |

Hi, I just happen to be one of those "annoying fans" that your talking about that sit in section 130 and do our chants. I don't get what the big deal is just because were able to enjoy ourselves and have some fun. If I wanted to go to go to Church and be bored then I would of went there, however, this is hockey! I'm not just going to sit there on my hands and be bored like alot fans that come to the game!

Speaking of annoying fans, the group who sit in 130 (a few rows in front of me by the way) who whenever there is a Cyclones penalty, cleverly respond with "2 minutes of shut the hell up" What on earth does that even mean, all I know is that they annoy the crap out of me.
I never said anything about not enjoying the game with or without chants, if you took offense to it, I apologize and I hope you are bigger than to make me the subject of any negativity. I was just pointing out my feelings towards the issue. I realize that I won't nor do I plan on stopping anyone from expressing themselves any way they see fit (within the confines of the law). You do things your way, and I'll do things mine, and we can both root for the 'Clones "Hope we can all bury the hatchet, just not in each other's heads" |

| Let's not be at each other's throats too much here guys, remember that it took a minor miracle for us to have a team to root for, period. "Problems" like these would have been considered luxuries just 5 years ago. |

| My problem with the "fan" chants is that there are some that think that only they are aloud to yell things and if you yell too, they get really nasty and yell at you personally. |

| The last thing I wanted to do in this was start a feud or create enemies, but from my perspective, it seemed that you guys were just doing the chants to get noticed, or worse make it all about yourselves, I now realize that I was wrong and just like everybody else chose to express themselves in different ways. Hopefully we can put this ugliness behind us and get back to cheering for the Cyclones as they (hopefully) make their way to the playoffs |

BINGO and I started saying that a few years ago. We said "2 minutes for shut the hell up!" But whatever. |

That chant and the "He shoots,he scores, hey (insert goalies name) you suck!" are both mildly / very annoying at times. Atleast that Heckler from Hell is gone. I've actually witnessed mothers requesting their children be pictured with him. Wow.
AWWW...jealousy gets you nowhere!

Its a hockey game, not a knitting competition. If I want quiet I will watch a chess game.
Thanks buddy! I miss everyone too! I hope to make it to Greenville in a couple weeks!! |

And I'm not talking about chanting that the opposing goalie sucks after every goal. That is a taunt, not an obscene attack. Some people can't seem to tell the difference.

BRAVO!! I dont like all the cursing in front of the kids either. I don't drop any F-bombs. Alltho, I learned to say it in Japanese a few years back to taunt Fukifuji!! |

Eggggsactly.
The Heckler is a perfect example of doing it right. He dresses in a distracting costume that CLEARLY supports the home team. He pounds the glass, makes noise, and jumps around. He taunts opposing players.
He does NOT yell obscenities at the top of his lungs. He does NOT make the people around him take their children elsewhere. He does NOT say things that would get him punched in the mouth if he said it directly to a player's face.
I'll sit next to him over hundreds of the typical low-class F-bomb insulting bozos I see at every game ANY day.
Here's a nice rule of thumb for those without the switches in their brains to help them out... If you wouldn't say it out on the sidewalk to a player's face, DON'T yell it from row K. And if you are thinking you would say some of those things to a pro hockey players face... Here are two hints: 1. No you wouldn't. 2. You are likely one of the guys I'm talking about. Do us all a favor and SHUT UP.
Have a nice day.

As far as the kids go, I've learned to scale back the severity of the chants when there are kids present. It goes from PG-13/R to PG borderline PG-13 |

Painted faces duo........never seen them get in the way of other fans while the game is going on. They are having fun and you can't say they don't support their team! Their goal is to get noticed and get up on the jumbotron. They are supporting their team!!
The fans in section 130.....like said elsewhere, they are loud and having fun. lol Maybe what they are yelling sounds inappropiate to you, but it makes sence to them. But they are supporting the team!
Heckler From Hell.........I miss him and how he could/can get under the skin of the opposition. There is no doubt that he supports the Cyclones. (He is serving our Country right now and our right to be able to voice our opinions!)
Bottom line is..........you may not like the way they show it.......but as individuals........each fan has their own way of showing support for THE CYCLONES!!
Well said, it seems as though I've been a bit hasty in my judgement of said group in 130, the fact is, as long as they are supporting the team that's fine with me, I will now be quiet on the subject as I believe I've been put in my place. |
